Ski Camp Advent Calendar

31 Days of core, mobility, and strength exercises to get your ready for camp and the ski season

Got a minute? Let’s get ready for ski season!

Open any door for a core, mobility, and or strength exercise. Each takes only a minute or less! Do one a day, mix them up, or combine them with your existing routine. Consistency is key, and doing a little bit each day is a great way to incorporate new movements, keep things fun, and avoid overdoing it.

As always, please take into consideration any past injuries, and consult your healthcare professional before starting any new exercise routine.

Weekly Classes

Methow Valley Nordic offers classes for a full range of abilities, from beginner to advanced.  Class sizes are small, so you get plenty of individual attention.  You must be a member to take a class, but it’s easy to join MVN here.

Most classes meet once a week for eight weeks from January thru the first week of March.  The exceptions to the rule are the (NEW!) 4-week skate-only class (running for 4 Tuesdays in January), and the fitness classes which start in December and meet for twelve weeks.  With the exception of the skate-only class, the classes are split evenly between classic and  skating, with the actual technique of each class determined weekly based on snow conditions.  Classes meet at a variety of trailheads around the valley.

The quick run down of ability levels is: beginners can shuffle around, advanced skiers can move pretty fast, and other skiers are in between.  If you want a bit more of an idea of where you might best fit, please consult our skill level chart for adult programs, and use your best judgement.  We will be happy to help you change groups after classes begin to find the best fit for you.
