GiveBig 2022 has begun and will culminate on May 3-4 with a 48-hour giving event. This annual giving event kicks off our spring campaign to raise money for a new van.

GiveBig 2022: Connecting Kids to the Outdoors
Your donation will support the purchase of a 10- to 12-passenger van, providing a key link to connect young people in the Methow Valley to the local Nordic trail system, ski team practice, teammates, peers and new friendships.
The Methow Valley Nordic Team has grown nearly 40% over the past two years – primarily in younger age groups. Transportation remains one of the key hurdles which prevents kids from fully participating in our programs, and is regularly noted by families as a key challenge for continued involvement. Your support is critical in helping keep as many of our valley’s children connected to Nordic skiing and related outdoor activities.
Alumni will tell you that van rides are one of the most memorable and special experiences on the Nordic Team. Besides transportation, the van becomes the de facto clubhouse for the team, allowing skiers to connect with teammates, peers and friends, to break down their day and process what is happening in their world. A team van is an important mechanism for providing both practical transportation for skiers, and facilitating many of the peripheral benefits of youth sports – contributing to the overall growth and development of our community’s youth.
