MVNSEF was recently awarded a $2,000 grant from Confluence Health and the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group Community Partnership Fund.  This is the the third year of the grant and the second year in a row that the grant will go to support the Ski Cubs program, MVNSEF’s introductory after-school cross-country ski program conducted in partnership with Methow Valley Elementary’s after-school Cub Clubs.

Ski Cubs provides an introduction to classical cross-country skiing for K-2nd graders once a week for six weeks each winter.  The program aims to remove the most common impediments to youngsters by providing equipment, enthusiastic coaching, groomed trails, a healthy snack and more!  Each winter the program helps almost 50 skiers play for an hour or more in the snow through the coldest weeks of the winter.

MVNSEF thanks Confluence Health, the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group and the Community Foundation of North Central Washington for their support of youth activity and the many health benefits it provides.
